Is Obama joking?

Fellow American,

There is something wrong with a government that adds over $4.1 BILLION to its national debt every day.

Spending is out of control!

Our federal deficit now stands at $1.5 trillion.

And our national debt is a staggering $14.3 trillion.

This ball and chain dragging down our economy burdens every American — including children — with $45,000 in obligations!

And you know what Obama is proposing as the solution?

Raising the debt ceiling without a single cut!

Trust me that I am doing everything I can to fight the foolish notion that adding debt will solve the deficit.

But it’s only the first round in the battle to rein in the federal behemoth.

The real question is: Will you settle for nickel-and-dime cuts?

OR do you want to see REAL cuts and an END to unconstitutional spending?

If you want real cuts, I need you to sign my "Cut Federal Spending petition" right away.

I’ll give you a link in a moment, but I want you to know just how much I need your help.

You see, I’m not here to compromise.

I came to Washington to fight for our future.

Of course, we need a balanced budget amendment to the constitution, which I and 46 other GOP Senators sponsored earlier this year.

But we also need something very few in Washington seem willing to do.  Real spending cuts.  Right now.

And it starts with my Cut Federal Spending Act (S. 162) to cut our current budget by $500 billion.

That’s right, I have introduced a concrete plan to cut half a trillion dollars right now from our bloated, job-killing federal budget.

Without this monumental step, the government will only have two options.

Neither option is pretty and both involve harm to you and your family.

The first option is the government will raise the debt ceiling and print even more money — a lot more.

This sort of reckless printing will drive inflation through the roof, destroying the value of your paycheck and hard-earned savings.

The second option hits home hard by crushing America with massive tax hikes on small businesses, seniors and working folks.

I’m sure you can see why business-as-usual is not a desirable course of action.

But if you and I are going to put a stop to out-of-control spending, debt and oppressive taxation, I’m going to need your help FORCING Congress to take action.

You see, the Cut Federal Spending Act will not pass on my shoulders alone.

So take a stand with me for real cuts in government spending by signing the Cut Federal Spending Petition here.

With your signed petition and support, RAND-PAC will focus the frustrations of millions of Americans just like you.

Together we will smash through the barriers standing between us and constitutional government.

The writing on the wall is clear.

Americans are demanding an end to the wasteful and unconstitutional programs destroying our economy.

But unless you and I continue to make it clear to Congress that they MUST deal with this crisis, the establishment will continue to hide from the truth.

You and I need to make it clear they’ve got two choices:

Vote to massively reduce spending or pay the price in 2012.

Congress saw the strength of the Tea Party movement in November, but it will mean nothing if you and I let up now.

Right now there are bills from both parties that only reduce spending by a fraction, and even more bills to spend more.

Our ship is sinking and while water continues to flow in, these big government politicians want to splash out a drop when we need to start heaving out buckets!

They just don’t get it.

And they think you can be appeased with tough talk and fancy rhetoric with little-or-no action.

Well, their tricks aren’t going to work on me.

And I know they won’t work on you either.

Departments and programs beyond the constitutional authority of the federal government either need to be eliminated or handled by the states.

Industries should handle their own research and development rather than be propped up artificially through subsidies out of taxpayer pockets.

This out-of-control spending must stop now.

Will you take the first step now by signing the RAND-PAC Cut Federal Spending Petition?

Your petition will make it clear to your senators that you believe federal spending is a major problem and it must be drastically cut now.

Specifically, my Cut Federal Spending Act reduces funding for the:

*  Department of Agriculture by over $42 billion.

*  Department of Transportation by over $42 billion.

*  Department of Energy by over $27 billion.

*  Department of Health and Human Services by over $26 billion.

*  TSA by almost $1 billion.

*  Housing and Urban Development entirely, excluding veteran housing programs.

*  Department of Justice by over $9 billion.

*  Department of State by over $20 billion.

*  Additional departments and programs bringing the total to $500 billion.

My proposal is accomplished entirely without touching Social Security or Medicare, and believe it or not, still leaves 85% of government funding in place.

So don’t let anyone tell you we are "gutting" spending, we are just bringing a piece of sanity back to Washington.

But none of this will happen without your support.

Your signed petition will enable RAND-PAC to lead the fight in forcing a vote on this crucial legislation.

In fact, RAND-PAC has plans to reach over 3 million like-minded conservatives in the next 90 days to garner support for the Cut Federal Spending Act.

I will reach out to these individuals through email, internet ads, mail — and even TV and radio ads if funds permit.

I will collect hundreds of thousands of signed petitions, just like the one I hope you will sign today.

Unfortunately, contacting that many Americans isn’t cheap.

In fact, with increases in postage and cost of printing due to inflation of the money supply, it can get really expensive.

That’s why I need you to make a generous contribution of $50, $100, $250 or more to RAND-PAC after signing your petition.

If that is too much right now, please consider chipping in at least $10 or $25.

Your donation will enable RAND-PAC to create the momentum necessary to pass the Cut Federal Spending Act (S. 162).

I know you are sick and tired of the direction our country is headed.

And I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that you are not alone in your frustration.

It’s time to put an end to:

*  Subsidies and bailouts that artificially prop up industries, stifle competition and kill jobs.

*  Departments the federal government has no constitutional authority to run. These programs should be left to the states to handle.

*  Wasteful and unnecessary spending in various departments.

*  Spending $1 million, let alone $1.5 trillion, more than we bring in.

If you agree, stand with me by clicking here to sign the Cut Federal Spending petition now.

And after you sign your petition, please make a donation of $50, $100, $250 or more to RAND-PAC.

But if that is too much, even chipping in with $10 or $25 will make an impact.

Your donation will be instrumental in uniting the millions of Americans necessary to pass the Cut Federal Spending Act.

It’s time to put an end to wasteful and unconstitutional government spending.

And it all starts today when you sign the Cut Federal Spending petition by clicking here.

I know I can count on you.

P.S. Our government’s spending is out of control.

Our national debt is at $14.3 trillion and grows by over $4.1 billion per day!

In fact, Obama is proposing raising the debt ceiling without making a single spending cut!

But I am leading the fight along with RAND-PAC to see to it that government spending is reduced through my Cut Federal Spending Act.

And I want to invite you to be among the first to stand with me and RAND-PAC by signing the Cut Federal Spending petition by clicking here.

After you sign the petition, I hope you will make a donation to RAND-PAC of $50, $100, $250 or more.

If that is too much, please consider chipping in just $10 or $25 today.

Your donation will be vital in reaching the millions of Americans like you who are fed up with out-of-control federal spending.

Thank you for your support.
