Chairman Strawn Thanks Kurtenbach for His Service to Iowa GOP
DES MOINES- Iowa GOP Chairman Matt Strawn today issued the following statement regarding outgoing Iowa GOP Co-chairman Jim Kurtenbach. Today, Kurtenbach announced he is resigning as the Iowa GOP’s co-chairman in order to pursue a leadership position with a Republican presidential campaign. Kurtenbach was first elected Iowa GOP Co-Chairman in January 2009. He was elected unanimously to a second term in January 2011.
“Jim is a true public servant and has been a terrific partner in rebuilding the Iowa GOP. He has been part of a revitalized Iowa GOP that has delivered sweeping electoral victories, dramatically increased GOP voter registration, and renewed donor and grassroots confidence.
Jim has been a trusted counselor, friend and leader.  I wish my friend well, and, on behalf of over 600,000 Iowa Republicans, offer my gratitude for a job well done.â€
