Gov. Branstad to Headline Whitver “Get out the Vote” Rally

GOP leaders to make final push Saturday in Ankeny in Senate District 35

DES MOINES – Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Matt Strawn today announced a “Volunteer for Whitver” day, including a rally with Governor Terry Branstad to support Senate District 35 nominee Jack Whitver.

The special election for the vacant northern Polk County Iowa Senate seat will be held on Tuesday, January 18.

“Governor Branstad knows hard-working volunteers make a huge impact on elections. That’s why, just three days before our special election, he’ll be rallying those volunteers as they make phone calls and brave the weather to knock on doors for Jack Whitver,” Strawn said. “Jack is a small business owner who will bring a focus on incentivizing private-sector job creation to the Iowa Senate.”

Saturday’s volunteer push is from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Lakeside Center in Hawkeye Park in Ankeny. The rally begins at 10:30 a.m. Volunteers should R.S.V.P. by emailing [email protected]
