The FAMiLY LEADER will host a Presidential Lecture Series beginning February 7th at three campus locations across Iowa. Former Governor Tim Pawlenty from Minnesota will kick-off the monthly series and be the first speaker to deliver a pro-family lecture. This educational lecture will be open to the public, free of charge. Governor Pawlenty will deliver a 25-minute pro-family lecture followed by a structured Q&A facilitated by Bob Vander Plaats, President and CEO of The FAMiLY LEADER. The monthly Presidential Lecture Series will feature one national political figure delivering his or her pro-family speech in all three locations. The primary purpose of the Presidential Lecture Series is to provide prominent national figures with a pre-planned, full day in Iowa to introduce them to Iowans and to allow citizens an opportunity to become better informed on his or her pro-family vision.
The dates for the monthly Presidential Lecture Series include Februrary 7, March 7, April 11, May 2, June 6, July 11, and August 1. Congresswoman Bachmann is scheduled to join the series line-up on April 11. Former Senator Rick Santorum will be the lecturer on May 2. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and radio talk show host Herman Cain have committed to participate but dates have not been finalized. Invitations have also been extended to former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, South Dakota Senator John Thune, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, and Congressman Ron Paul.
