Iowa GOP Chairman Strawn Congratulates Whitver

Republicans win Senate District 35 Special Election

DES MOINES – Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Matt Strawn tonight congratulated Jack Whitver on his special election win in Senate District 35. The seat covers northern Polk County.

“Jack will be a strong advocate for conservative principles and private sector job creation. Jack has personal experience creating jobs, and that is just what Iowa needs right now,” Strawn said.

“As a small business owner, I’m ready to tackle the issues that are standing in the way of job growth,” Whitver said. “It’s time to make Iowa the best place to start a business and raise a family.”

Senate Republican Leader McKinley welcomed Whitver to the Iowa Senate. “Jack ran a great campaign and I am confident he will hit the ground running as a champion for more jobs, lower taxes and a smaller, more efficient government.”

Whitver is an owner of three local fitness facilities and is attending law school at Drake University. Jack and his wife, Rachel, live in Ankeny with their newborn daughter.
